Gideon Wandera was born to Osborn and Brenda Wandera December 12, 1980. In 1999 he walked the platform from Oakland Technical High School and continued his education at Merritt College, majoring in Psychology. During his studies, he was engaged in various civic activities: as a Frankin Elementary counselor; a teacher at Camp Read A Lot; a YMCA youth counselor; and served as a referee for the City of Oakland.
From these experiences and opportunities he realized that his journey should continue working with youth. He is currently a Values Education Intern at YouthHealth USA INC, studying to be a teacher of therapeutic storytelling and values education.
