Today many movies like Blindside, Freedom Writers, Step Up and Precious reflect the crises that are going on in our country. Children all across America are struggling to keep their grades up and/or stay out of trouble. Children need help in developing their identity, but most are not equipped to take life by the horns and face it dead on.
Graduation rates are a fundamental indicator of whether or not the nation’s public school system is doing what it is intended to do: enroll, engage, and educate youth to be productive members of society. Since almost 90 percent of the fastest-growing and highest-paying jobs require some post secondary education, having a high school diploma is necessary in order to enter college and/or succeed in the workplace. Yet nationally, one-third of students—about 1.3 million each year—leave high school without a diploma, at a high cost to themselves and all of society at large. Over the course of their expected work life it will cost our society 250 Billion dollars in lost revenues, tax dollars and etc. Keep in mind that cost is repeated each year that we do not fix the problem and that truth effect us all nationwide now and will on goingly effect our kids and grand kids futures! We have good reason to get involved now and work to correct this challenge today YouthHealthUSA has been working for 27 years nationally and internationally with amazing success and we now are inviting everyone to join us in an a push to give away free of charge the tools that can turn our nation around through our "CHOOSE2bPOSITIVE" campaign which is a working solution we all can be a part of Now!
Would you agree kids and adults can live happier lives if they "CHOOSE2bPOSITIVE" campaign and work to maintain a better attitude, and demonstrate more patience, tolerance and compassion while continually seeking tools that will help equip them to make better decisions in all aspects of their lives? More and more we are facing unacceptable attitudes and behavior problems in our youth and adults. Sadly it is especially notable in the intolerably low graduation rates in America regardless of race or economic status. For example only 81% of Asians are currently graduating, and only 77% of Caucasians graduate, only 56% of Hispanics graduate, only 54% of Blacks graduate, and only 51% of Native Americans graduate, just to name a few groups College dropout rates are equally shocking.
Challenged students are found to be in both rich and poor families and come from all walks of life Indian, Hawaiian, Black, White, Spanish, Asian, Eskimo or any other title. YouthHealthUSA, JUST SEES KIDS IN TROUBLE that are in need of intervention to do better and that is our focus getting them the intervention they need now where ever they are at. These hard to accept academic facts have been obscured for far too long by inaccurate data calculations and bad reporting as a result of systems lacking accountability. There is no question we have a crisis and it is also a fact that we can fix it if we face it and put the right tools and effort to work against this enormous drag on all of us. Some areas like Oakland California show that only 38% of high school student’s graduate annually other places like in Louisiana have graduation rates that can be as low as 13%. Would you believe the national average of all America Kids combined who graduate is only a shockingly 66% .......YES 66% this is catastrophe says Colon Powel! 17 of our 50 states, some of those having our largest populations are experiencing graduation rates well below our national average including California, Arizona, Texas and Florida among others. Most of us would agree this is not acceptable and cannot be ignored. Looking beyond just graduation rates most of realize even though many kids do graduate many still would benefit from specialized help to give them enhanced tools for making better daily decisions and helping them develop greater appreciation, and better attitudes along with higher values toward life. When kids receive this special help that YouthHealthUSA's "CHOOSE2bPOSITIVE" campaign provides, they gain tools for life that help them to listen better and when kids can listen, they can learn. We find when underserved and under achieving kids are given specialized help to cope with life and circumstances and aimed back on par with success they tend to choose to excel, and strive for success and graduate! The hope, optimism and pride found in the success of graduating and being a better person helps build lasting qualities of character and adds to an overall better world for all of us! Studies have further revealed that many kids having academic success currently are void of a positive value system and are in need of help and direction to best cope with life’s challenges. YouthHealthUSA sees that these groups of kids also benefit greatly from our "CHOOSE2bPOSITIVE" campaign intervention campaign which guides them into better decision making process that help them to acquire and maintain better balance and success in every area of their life. This unified intervention opens dialog around common expectations where kids can support and up lift each one another to be better persons and to do better. We want to see all kids have better attitudes and see an improvement to 95% or better of all kids graduating in America regardless of racial or economic boundaries. Education and decision making tools equip civilization with choices beyond fight and flight and self preservation! Wouldn’t you agree it’s better for all of us in the long run to lift up all of our youth now so that they can become better contributors to our society verses drainers on it!?
Low graduation rates cause schools to be underfunded and as a result many are shutting down all across our country. This causes overcrowding at other schools which makes teaching that much more difficult. So what do some schools do? They lower their standards. Cool huh? ....Wrong. By lowering the schools standards teens are graduating, but at a real cost. Unfortunately they are graduating out of high school with no more than a 6th to 9th grade education. This makes college and careers seem unattainable to many. Many good teachers are very frustrated with the attitude and behavior of students in and out of the classroom. Compounded by a lack of funding for essentials tools and having elective activities such as art, music and sports to balance students, teachers often quit in frustration in less than 5 years.
Many parents today feel children are lacking good values like honesty, trustworthiness, respect, patience, tolerance, compassion, hard work ethics, and simple appreciation for what they have. This often silent truth reflects a bigger problem that exist and is affecting all kids even leading to bulling and other types of hurting. Students may be graduating from high school, but the fact that there is still an ever-growing downward trend of good values as well as a lowering standard for proper expectations it is showing up as a symptom in many areas of life as an increasing lack of respect overall. Trends point toward a growing degree of dishonesty and distrust as the norm in relationships and families, causing many unstable households and marriages, thus promoting more teens to have the attitudes they have today. So with YouthHealthUSA's "CHOOSE2bPOSITIVE" campaign the whole family is helped to do better and that is a very important feature
America’s K–12 education system faces three further significant challenges: (1) increased global demands for skilled workers, (2) significant financial shortfalls, and (3) a looming teacher shortage. Independently, these factors present significant challenges for U.S. schools. In combination, they create a national imperative for swift action to create a more innovative, effective, and efficient education system that includes providing a more cooperative student with a fuller vision of being prepared for life. YouthHealth USA's tools are making it possible to educate and build the character of our youth!
We are coming together NOW to give America a Positive Future by delivering to school systems a more willing and ready student for teachers to educate. YouthHealthUSA.org appreciates your help! Together we can make a POSITIVE CHANGE for everyone!
